Content marketing is a very important part of any Inbound Marketing / Digital strategy. Understandably, it can seem a little daunting at first, there is a lot of information out there and as a salon owner you simply don’t have the time to explore all of it. Today we wanted to create a quick post on the effectiveness of Google Trends.
So were do we start?

The best place to start is with your clients, really, keep note of what service they are asking for each time they come into your salon. Lets say you have a hair salon and you want to add some cool trending content to your blog and email your client base. We know that more and more clients are looking for pastel colours like purple, grey and rose gold. Now that we have some idea lets jump on Google Trends to see what people are searching for.
Simply drop in the term, select Australia to drill down a little further and we can see the popularity of this hairstyle. Immediatley we have a great topic to create content for, also, keep in mind you will be creating content like this organically every day. You just need to record it 🙂
Ok, what about a beauty salon?
Same rules apply, we took a quick look into some terms around eyebrows and found the below trend for “Eyelash Perm” displaying an amazing spike in interest this year. Why not create “The Ultimate Guide To Eyelash Perming” and include a video tutorial on your in-salon service. You could even promote it on Facebook to women in your area. This is a great way to capture the trend and drive more traffic to your website.
